Hi, I’m Caitlin. Welcome to Rootdown Wellness. I’m so glad you’re here. We’ll go ahead and get all of the formalities out of the way first.
I’m a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), and hold a Bachelor’s of Exercise & Sports Science in PrePhysical Therapy with a minor in Psychology (BESS), as well as a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. (CPT).
With my background in anatomy & the human body on a physical level combined with my additional training in nutritional therapy, I take a holistic approach to health and the way that I view the body and work with clients. Instead of a one-size-fits-all or a treat the body part/the issue, I partner with my clients to dig deep to find the root cause of a symptom or issue.
That nagging headache that comes in the afternoons? Instead of just treating the pain, let’s figure out if you’re appropriately hydrated or possibly experiencing low blood sugar. We’ll definitely look for temporary solutions to mend the pain, but also work to help nurture the issue of origin.
Holistic (adjective)
ho·lis·tic/hō-ˈli-stik
relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts
Throughout my own health and wellness journey, I’ve learned time and time again the power of food as medicine and how our stress levels (even when we feel “fine”) deeply affect our body on a physical level.
Growing up experiencing severe panic attacks, and each and every way they decided to manifest in my body, I’m passionate about teaching my clients ways to mitigate stress, even the kind you may not even know was affecting you to live a more balanced life.

This means making the best choices for you when it comes to diet, nutrition, lifestyle and when choosing to work with (or not) other healthcare practitioners. Aside from simply offering advice for clients, I want them to feel empowered and confident to go out into their own life and make the best choices for them.
